Philosophy
What started as Gabe’s personal hobby years ago has evolved into his passion and career. As a 16 year old with an interest in cars and fabrication, Gabe quickly realized that he had a natural talent for welding, metalwork, and craftsmanship more generally. He improved on these skills and eventually became a certified welder. GDT welding is the product of an initial talent that has been improved upon and fostered for years. Now, we are thrilled to be able to use our skills and passions to help our friends and neighbors - providing them with a necessary service while doing work we love and derive enormous gratification from.
Quality, integrity, and ambition are our founding principles by which we hold ourselves accountable and value our work. Above all else, GDT welding seeks to provide quality services to its clientele. Our obsession with detail and craftsmanship is manifest in every single weld we produce, whether it is on dated farm equipment or a 3000hp dragster. We believe that it is impossible to produce quality work without integrity guiding one’s actions. We strive to be transparent and straightforward with our customers at all costs. Finally, we have a level of ambition that constantly pushes us to improve and develop our business. We are never complacent with where we are and always seeking to expand our services, knowledge, skill and customer base. While we might not be the oldest or largest welding company in North Carolina, there is nobody who will work harder to fulfill your requests and keep your business.

From working on his personal Trans Am to repairing tanker trucks to modifying medical grade equipment, Gabe has a diverse background with numerous welding environments and applications. Following his graduation from Wake Technical College in Raleigh, NC, Gabe went on to work for a variety of companies as a welder, mechanic, and even stonemason. However, he failed to find the sense of pride and gratification that he had hoped for, which inspired him to found GDT welding.

Justin
Justin has long been an esteemed friend and colleague of the Turcottes. Having graduated at the top of his class at Wake Technical College’s welding program, he quickly moved on to lead a team of sheet-metal welders/fabricators. Familiar with Justin’s workmanship and general work ethic, we requested that he join GDT welding, where he now works on a part-time basis while simultaneously working as a welding team lead at Forma-Fab Metals.
